Debra's Column The Rhythm of Life My work as a medium gives me a great opportunity to experience several planes of existence at once. With each opportunity of connection I‘m amazed by the powerful messages and overwhelming love that is offered with each and every encounter. Our time in this world is rhythmic. Look around and see the ways of nature. In every aspect of life there is ebb and flow, a constant current. We are all souls in a living organism called the Universe. With each soul I personally encounter I am amazed at the flow of life force in very living thing. Recently, I gave a lecture at a friend’s home. Many families gathered to receive messages from their loved ones on the other side. As my awareness moved around the room I noticed a kind-looking older man, whom I understood to be the deceased grandfather of a young man who was attending the group that day. The kind old man paid his respects and then lifted his hand and pointed his finger to the other side of the room. I got the feeling that I should immediately cross the room. As I looked over, I saw a friendly face staring at me from behind his mother. It was Jake. Jake passed away several years ago very tragically. I have become close this wonderful family, watching them grieve and heal the loss of their loving son. As Jake looked at me, I felt he wanted me to acknowledge his sister Heidi who was sitting next to his mother. He also wants me to say hello to his father who wasn’t present at the time. As Jake became more visible, he started to speak. Very bluntly he said, “Heidi’s going to have a baby.” As I looked at him and his mother, my mouth fell open. I didn’t know what to say, because the information was so personal I didn’t want to “let the cat out of the bag” so to speak, especially with so many people present. So I said to Jake’s mother, “Your son Jake is here and he has some very personal information to share with you. Are you ok with me sharing this information with the group?” She said yes! I then turned to look at Heidi and said “Heidi your brother wants to say hello and that he loves you very much. He is also saying that you are going to have a baby.” I was expecting her to be surprised, but instead, the two of them nodded their heads in agreement. Jake seemed to be so proud to be the bearer of the joyous news of this precious gift coming to his family. He was satisfied with his place in the process and wanted to send his love to his wonderful family on earth. Another encounter I recently experienced was with a young woman who came to mefor a reading. She was very quiet at first, but as I started to connect with her sister who passed recently, she opened up and asked several questions. Her sister was very open and told me many things about their family and how she visited her nephew often. Then, the young woman asked if her sister had anything to do with her son’s birthmark. I looked up and saw her sister reach up with her hand and kiss her own finger, and then I followed her hand as she pressed her finger on the baby’s skin. I said nothing, but simply repeated the gesture. I kissed my finger and pressed it on to the table beside me. Kelli gasped and put her hand over her mouth as she began to cry. She told me that her son’s birthmark looks just like a kiss! I am always amazed by the loving and caring ways our loved ones from the other side communicate. They want us to be happy, to heal, and to remember that life goes on. This life is only a stopover on the journey to much more, and we are all a part of something much bigger. It is up to each of us to explore this truth within ourselves. I hope these stories spark your interest to look for signs and messages from your angels, spirit helpers, and loved ones on the other side. The signs are subtle, but when you are paying close attention, spirit will provide them.
